Douglas Cardinal Project

A new and exciting phase of archival processing relating to the Douglas Cardinal Collection held in the Archives and Research Collections (ARC) begins this week. Three practicum students, Kathleen Grindrod-Millar, Marianne Williams and Allison Macdonald from ARTH 3900 will be assisting ARC with the processing Douglas Cardinal Collection architectural plans, photographs and blogging over the next few months. We will be looking forward to their unique perspectives as they discover new material related to the Collection.

This blog chronicles the archival processing of the Douglas Cardinal Collection at the Carleton University Archives and Research Collections.

This is a place for storytelling and reflection as we work through over 300 boxes that comprise the collection.

Douglas Cardinal is one of Canada's most renowned architects. His flowing architecture is distinguished by its smooth lines and is shaped by his Aboriginal heritage as well as European Expressionist architecture. Cardinal donated his collection to the Carleton Archives and Research Collections in 2011.
